Summer Reading at Nipmuc Regional High
Due date - First day of school (during English class)
- Every student is required to select one book from the list and do a reading response assignment/project to demonstrate that you read it.
- On the first meeting of your English class you will pass in your assignment/project to your English teacher. The Summer Reading response assignment/project will then be graded by the Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Venkataraman. She will use the coversheet you fill out in English class and the communication rubric to grade your assignment (see link to coversheet & rubric below). Do not fill out the coversheet during the summer. This will be done in class.
- Your assignment/project will not be graded if it does not show evidence that you read the book. If you do not complete the summer reading & assignment you will receive a 0.
- The grade you earn on summer reading will be one of your first grades in English. It will be worth 5% of your overall grade in English for 1st quarter.
Books will be available to borrow from your local public library. You may purchase books from local bookstores - Barnes & Noble in Bellingham, MA (during our Bookfair June 11th & 12th and online at barnesandnoble.com June 13th-17th) and Tatnuck Bookseller in Westborough, MA.
