Pat Donelan - VHS student
This year was my first, and sadly my last, year experiencing a VHS class. My junior year, I signed up to take Biotechnology the first semester of senior year and Nuclear Science the second semester. However, I enjoyed my first experience with VHS so much that I switched into a second VHS course for the second semester. Now, I am studying both Nuclear Science and Mathematics of Electricity. I really enjoy taking online courses because I have more independence and I study at my own pace. For example, I can complete all my assignments for VHS before the weekend and leave myself open blocks to complete work for other courses the following week, if I anticipate a busy week for my other courses. Additionally, the VHS collaborative gives me an opportunity to study topics not offered by my high school. Not only am I given the opportunity to study new topics, but I am also given the opportunity to work with students from all over the globe, which helps me further develop and strengthen my online communication skills. Overall, VHS has been an incredible experience that I am very grateful to have participated in.
