My name is Zack Lapointe and I'm a VHS student. This semester I'm taking Engineering for Sustainable Energy, and last semester I took Math and Modern Logic. My experience with these two VHS classes has been great; there are a number of aspects of VHS that I not only like, but have also made me a better student. I like how independent the courses are, because I get to work at my own pace without a teacher forcing me to get my work done. Even though I have a lot of flexibility in my class, I always make sure to get my work done by my weekly deadlines. This has improved my time management skills, as I need to make sure to allocate enough time to get my work done on time without cramming it all in the last day. Perhaps my favorite thing about VHS is the wide variety of courses offered. Topics like logic and sustainable energy engineering are interesting to me, but they aren't offered in a regular classroom setting. VHS has allowed me to take these interesting classes that I wouldn't be able to take otherwise. Altogether, the flexibility and varsity of courses offered are why I like VHS.
